City of Hardeeville Internship

Do you know why some areas only have homes and no businesses or why most schools are located in residential areas? Have you heard that Hardeeville is exploding and that soon the population will more than double? Would you like to be apart of assisting in helping businesses and new residents adjust. A Summer Internship at the City of Hardeeville will answer some if not all of your questions. Continue reading to learn more. 

City of Hardeeville Planning Mission: The mission of the Planning and Development Department is to promote managed growth in City of Hardeeville by maintaining a comprehensive planning program which minimizes land use conflicts, coordinates the provision of public services, and optimizes the quality of life for all city residents, while maintaining full compliance with City codes and ordinances. 
Summer only internship.  Internships will commence on June 12, 2017 and ends August 3 2017.  Selected interns must be able to commit to the seven-week session.  Upon completing the internship, there is no implied offer of extension.
Internship Description:
Students will assist planners and techs in mapping responsibilities of the City and data entry into software for permitting and code enforcement.
Student will be trained to use ARC GIS software
Student will complete a project that requires updating all City maps
